What's the best medical undergraduate school?
Eventually, as it’s the best medical school, I would like to proceed to Harvard University for medical studies. Before that, though, I need to take pre medical studies/undergraduate work. I know Harvard has undergraduate work called Harvard college, but is it the best for pre med? I’ve also heard Princeton has a really great undergraduate program, one of the best in the world actually.
So, what’s the best choice? Also, if you know of other schools, I’d appreciate you list them as well.
Thank you!

Seriously, you can go anywhere and study anything. From my college (Northwestern University- excellent school by the way), I personally knew 2 people who went to Harvard for med school- one was a theater major who just took the 4 required sciences (Chem, Organic Chem, Physics, Biology) and the other was a biomedical engineer. What really matters is how you test on your MCAT, your GPA, and your personal statement.
If you want to major in science, any Ivy League school or a comparable Tier 1 school will prepare you. If you really want to go to Harvard Med, it’s generally best to go to a different school for undergrad.
And John’s Hopkins is just as good (and many think better) than Harvard for medical school. Just keep your options open.
Actually, Johns Hopkins is the best medical school in the country, but Harvard is up there too. You can do premed at any 4-year college or university along with whatever you major in, so pick the best school you can get into and go from there.
go to a good undergraduate college and take the required pre-med courses. See how you do, in terms of both marks and sustained interest in the course work; if your grades will support a medical school application, then apply to a number of medical schools, both top-level and otherwise. There is a lot of competition, and you can develop a good career if you graduate from most medical schools.
Keep in mind that you still have to make the transition from high school to university – its harder to get top grades in univ – , and that young adults often change their interests and study plans.
the northeastern – tufts pre med and med program is absolutely amazing. same goes for boston university and nyu.
