Your high school classes, GPA, and SAT scores don’t play any role in getting accepted into medical school. Medical schools are only concerned about your college GPA and your grades in the pre-requisite classes for medical school (1 year of inorganic chemistry, 1 year of organic chemistry, 1 year of math usually calculus, 1 year of physics, 1 year of biology, and 1 year of english). Your scores on the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) are also very important, which is an exam that tests your knowledge in the sciences previously mentioned in addition to your reading comprehension and writing skills. In college you will need a GPA of at least 3.5 and an MCAT score of at least 30 to have a shot of getting into medical school. Of course the higher the better particularly since you are aiming for UCSF which probably the most competitive medical school alongside UCLA in California. Just concentrate on getting into a good college first and doing well there. Your high school grades and SAT scores will determine which college you get into.
