I want to be a doctor, and I am somewhat worried that I should be going to a university that has an affiliated medical School. Should I or is it ok to graduate from anywhere, as long as I pass the MCAT with a good score and complete pre-med requirements?
And also, would Medical school X show favoritism towards the school they are affiliated with in comparison with the rest of the students that apply?
-example: I apply for Harvard Medical School, would I have an equal shot as someone with my same specs that graduated from harvard?

I have a family member who graduated high school with a 3.2 GPA and a 1050 SAT score, now he attends Harvard Medical School because he did outstanding at a college he went to for his undergrad.

Is it a common thing and if so what makes students come from the depths?

I want to go to (in florida) USF, FSU, or UF for pre-med as undergrad. Could I get into Johns Hopkins University for medical school ? What GPA would i have to maintain and what score on the McAT ? (someone who can estimate)
Is where you go for undergrad SO important?

I am in my Senior Year of H.S and I am planning to go into Pre Medicine. I want to major in Chemistry at Fordham University for undergrad. in order to go into Medical School. I want to go into Fordham because it has a descent reputation, which is somewhat important for Medical School. I know that Fordham University is not the best but Medical School look more at your gpa and MCAT scores, volunteer experience, research and shadowing… tell me something I don’t know. But what I’m saying is that, if I have a really good gpa and MCAT score will I be able to get into Medical School if I go to Fordham. Going into a top medical school does not really matter to me because I don’t want to go into research, I want to go into General Surgery because it is a field that not many people go into and I can take advantage of. Is there any one who is in medical school, a doctor or got accepted who I can stay in contact with. If you are, please give me your email, I would really appreciate it. Please give me any advice! Right now, I am a sophomore majoring in Pre- medical Sciences. I took my major as Biomedical Sciences. I have a GPA of 3.7 overall right now. I am so scared what I will do if I am not going to get into medical school……If I am going to get into medical school, how many years it will take me to finish it?
I am planning to do internal medicine… How many years it will take me to complete that? When will i get start to get paid? Will I get any money after I am done with my premedical science major? Am I allowed to work when I am doing my medical school? What other requirements are needed besides a good GPA and MCAT score to get into a medical school? Say, I got into medical school and I am doing my MD. Am I gonna get any money when I am studying for MD( may be a stupid question)?

Hi, I am thinking about applying to medical school. Well I really want to, but I’m not sure if my personal statement is strong enough etc. So with these things do you think I would be considered for medical school?

1. 4 A-Levels (Biology, Chemistry, History and Psychology – Predicted all A’s)
2. Play piano, no grades as I am self-taught but I do play in a band and for my church
3. Work Experience in local hospital
4. Volunteer work in nursing home
5. Volunteer work for 6 weeks in Ghana helping in a medical centre specialising in HIV/AIDS treatments

Ok, I know this sounds impressive , lol, I’m not fishing for compliments, but say if I got lower than 4 A’s would or a low UKCAT score would this be enough to help me?
