What are some of the best medical schools and the most easiest to get into? 4

I am starting my B.S. i am just trying to think ahead for med schools….

How important is clinical experience when applying to medical school? 1

I am currently in the first semester of my junior year of undergraduate college work, and I plan on applying to medical school next year to begin (hopefully) right after undergrad. I am told that it is crucially important to get clinical experience (working in a hospital etc) in order to be a competitive applicant, which I understand. I am not starting my clinical work until January, and some of my advisers told me that I should have at least 100 hours logged before the end of January to apply to med schools next year, but no where else says that I need that many hours that soon. One website even said that clinical experience could even begin the summer between your junior and senior year. So basically I’m just wondering who’s right? Is getting that many hours that soon really that important?

Just as an aside, I’m not looking at applying to Harvard med school or anything like that, the schools I’m looking at are slightly less competitive (relatively) than that.

Answers from current med students, other pre-meds, or even physicians would be greatly appreciated.

So I know many med schools require a year of math. I’ve already completed calc I and am planning to take calc II in the fall semester of senior year. My question is do I have to complete calc II before I apply to med school (ex: in the spring semester of this year) or can i be taking the class while I apply to med school? Thanks!

Inquiring Pre-med and Medical School information? 1

I am interested in becoming a pediatrician, but I’m not sure what are the best steps to make this happen. I am asking for opinions on pre-med schools in Texas(which are the top rated) and also what courses and majors are the most helpful and look the most impressive when applying to medical school. Any information can help.

Thank you.

Question about Med School admissions? 6

I am a first semester junior in undergraduate school. I have a GPA of a 3.46. I have two questions. I am struggling in this one class and I was wondering if I was to get a bad grade in it can I still get into medical school? I haven’t got any bad grades since I’ve been in college. Also, do med schools look at what grade you got in each class or your GPA as a whole?
