Good school for premed? 2
I’m looking into schools that would have a good enough premed program to get me into a top medical school like Harvard or Johns Hopkins. Any ideas?

If I want to do a general surgery residency and then a trauma surgery fellowship? Would Johns Hopkins/Harvard Med be a good choice?
Okay, lets face it… everyone has volunteered in a hospital, has a 3.9 GPA, has had research experience, and has worked in a doctors office.
I want to know what the students who get into Johns Hopkins Med School and Harvard Med do to get into those schools…?
kbc that was the worst and most broad answer i’ve ever heard… I mean… no sh-t, I was just wondering what types of things they are involved in not just repeating my question
I’m a junior in high school wanting to study medicine. I want to get into Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, Dartmouth or Brown. I know they might all be a stretch for me, except maybe Cornell. But how good would you say my chances are based on the following:
GPA: I think a 4.0, don’t remember. Last year my GPA was a 97/100, don’t remember if that was weighted or unweighted.
Classes: So far for APs I’ve taken AP Statistics, AP US History, AP European History (4 on AP exam), AP Language and AP Psychology (4 on AP exam). The rest of my classes have all been honors, except for Physics this year (regular physics, which I’ve received A+ in both quarters)
Grades: A and A+ for the most part, a few B+ grades
SAT: 2070 (Just got my score today; it was my first SAT, and I’m going to try and get up to a 2150-2200 in May)
Extracurricular Activities: 9th grade Drama club and Human Awareness Club, 10th and 11th grade Students Against Destructive Decisions Club and Yearbook Club
Volunteering: 50 hours at hospital/nursing home
Over the summer I’m going to be working on a research project in Greece with some top-notch scientists.
Also, I haven’t taken SAT IIs yet, except Math Level 1, which I got a 730 on, but I will be taking Chem, Physics and Math 2 also, soon.
I’m especially interested in 7 year medical programs.
I hope to become a doctor when I am older, and I was wondering what kinds of grades it takes to get into a school like Johns Hopkins or Harvard Medical school.
Are you a doctor? How would you classify your medical school/medical career? Hard, easy?
Since I’m a foreigner, it’s going to be hard for me to go to an American university… so I’m gonna try for an English medical university. But are there any universities in England or anywhere else in Europe that has a good medical school like Harvard or Johns Hopkins?
I applied and got into Northern Illinois University, University of Illinois at Chicago and Loyola University (Chicago). I don’t want to complete my whole studies at the undergraduate college I end up attending. My ultimate goal is to get accepted into Harvard medical school or Johns Hopkins. I received a full ride scholarship for these three schools because of my academics but Which would be a better overall college experience?
I got a 43 on my MCAT but i have a 3.4 GPA majoring in bio from UT austin. will i be able to get into elite medical schools like harvard or johns hopkins? what about baylor?

Can i get into Top Medical Schools even though i don’t go to such a "top" undergrad school?
I wish to attend a top-tier medical school like Johns Hopkins
I am currently attending a top-10 university.
Right now, I’m only in undergrad, so I’ve still got a few more years to think about it, but I want to know how you go about picking a medical school. For all my life, I’ve lived in Baltimore and always heard that Johns Hopkins in the best medical school and hospital in the nation, but I don’t want to simply assume that’s where I should go based on the standard of what everyone says.
So how did you go about choosing your school? And how can you tell which school/hospital is best for certain specialties?
