Does dropping classes make your transcript look bad for medical school? 3
I dropped my geology class because it was not required for my major. Will a subscript saying that I dropped the class, affect my admission to medical schoool? THanks.

Hi–I’m a senior in high school getting ready for college. I’ve been rejected by the Ivies I’ve applied to so far (Cornell, Yale, Harvard). It’s just that for my dream–which is to become a dermatologist, these schools have top notch medical schools. It’s just a dream, but I really want to get into one of these schools. I don’t know what I don’t have that my friends do. I’m half Japanese and half white, and I speak Japanese fluently. I got a solid 1800 on the new SAT and okay scores on the SAT II’s (600’s and a 750 on the Japanese) and a 27 Composite on the ACT. I’ve taken 5 AP’s and gotten 4’s on two of them (3 I have to take in May this year) and my GPA is a 3.8. Extracirriculars: Literary Magazine, Newspaper articles, Japanese tutoring, volunteering at a hospital, and a job in sophomore year. Do you think there is something I should work on so that I can successfully transfer into these schools later on in college? Thank
I heard that medical schools have out of desperation lowered the requirements for entering Med School.
I’ve also heard that the Chiropractic colleges have increased their requirements and increased enrollment despite ongoing efforts by the medical profession to destroy it. Is this true?

Actually Chiropractic requires 4 years of premedical studies prior to 4 years of chiropractic college. High school diploma was a requirement many decades ago, not ‘until recently’ as you would suggest. Also quackery is a word specifically referring to MDs. Chiropractic has no death rate, while the MD is currently on top of the list of preventable causes of death in the USA.
Dispute that if you will, but the fact is chiropractors do not have a death rate, have never had a death rate and have a 95% patient satisfaction rating despite the efforts of the medical establishment to ‘prove’ otherwise. The MDs do not shrug, they cringe at the continued existence of the chiropractor because historically Chiropractors provide results they are unable to explain or understand. But what bugs them most is the fact that we simply do not kill our patients off like they do. For every patient saved by medical practice, 2 die because of medical practice. Chiropractors will not go away.
I am a Canadian and will be graduating from Univ. of Michigan. My GPA is right on the border (3.39) which is like ungurenteed that i will get in any med school in US.

I really want to get into Harvard med after high school, but I don’t know if I can afford it. I mean, are there any other schools that offer good education like Harvard and less expensive as well as recognized? Will I be offered a good job anywhere if I don’t go to Harvard? What does it depend on? Please help me out! I’m only 16 and I have really big dreams for med school! Thank you so much!

Most people in that field with formal education will have a 2-year college degree (associates). You have to look for a community college or tech college near you that offers the program. They will likely have a minimum GPA to enter the program, but won’t be looking at much beyond GPA and SAT scores.

Hi,
I want to be a doctor. My problem is that my undergraduate gpa is bad. I didn’t do good in my first two years. But managed to get 3.72 gpa in my last two years.I wanted to know if there are any medical schools that look at last or best two years gpa only.
Or is there anythign else I can do to get into med school.
Thanks
I am finishing college this year and was planning on going to medical school. My GPA is not as high as I would like for it to be… so as a result I want to do a graduate school program that medical schools will like and is some how related. On top of that, I do not want to waste time, I would like it to be one year long. If anyone could give me any ideas that would be great! Thanks!
My GPA is a 3.2 and raising after this semester.
K so I really want to go to Boise state university then go to medical school. Is it a bad idea to get requirements for a good medical school then earn the credits at boise state then go to the med school.
im puerto rican and will be applying to medical school soon. what are some good medical schools that will accepts students below the schools average gpa/mcat scores, for the simple fact of getting more diversity on their campus?
It is not up for debate whether or not medical schools accept minorities with lower gpa and mcat scores than the majority. IT IS fact… if you need proof, go to this aamc website http://www.aamc.org/data/facts/
notice that the average matriculant (not applicant) gpa and mcat scores for hispanics, blacks, and native americans are lower than the average mcat scores and gpa than that of asians and whites.
